Q: I got the DVD volume 1 and am only seeing up to chapter video 3.2. How do I see additional videos?
A: When you get this video please note there are 3 layers of menus giving you almost 4 hours of training. ALL 10 chapters of Beginning Joes 2 Pros are covered if you use both the left and right arrows as well as the up and down arrows when viewing. Tons of content was put on this DVD because people said they were tired of the leading DVD training series charging $700 for a few hours of SQL training? That’s almost $100 per hour. For people who are ready for good video lessons, you can get almost 4 hours on this DVD for less than $40.

Q: What are the recommended requirements to run the videos?
A: Possible requirements could be:
- Windows XP
- Minimum P-III 500 MHz processor
- 256 MB RAM or more
- 50 MB of hard drive space
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+
- IE security setting must be on medium or lower for the offline product
Q: Are all the video on the web site or do I get more with the DVD?
A: About 25% of the videos are on the web site to help people get started. I did create all the demos and all the labs of the Beginning SQL Vol1 book into videos and put them on the DVD. Many people were tires of the leading video maker charging $700 for 6 hours of videos. My DVD came to almost 4 hours of training videos for less than $40.

A: The intended audience is the people ranging from being comfortable with basic computer tasks to people accomplished on a programming language wanting to learn SQL. You may either be in the computer field and wish to be well-versed in SQL server or wanting to make a transition. The most common audience is someone in an initial supporting-level IT job like manual testing, technical writing, or support and wants to break into that next level. Another common success story is househusbands or housewives that have finally gotten their kids to school age and are looking at breaking back into the working field.

Q" Can I use your lessons with SQL 2005?
A: Yes, The labs and setup script work the same. There are some lessons in a few chapters that compare the 2005 way alongside the new 2008 method.
Q: Do the labs build on each other?
A: The labs can be done in any order. Just run the reset script for that has the same name as the lab.
Q: What about other SQL tests or other Languages?
A: Future projects include C# and BI (Business Intelligence).

A: Start with book 1 (Beginning SQL Joes 2 Pros Vol1). Even before you order you can download the first few chapters on a PDF and get started. If you don’t already have SQL server you can download SQL Express for free or for just $50 get a full functioning SQL Developer 2008 R2 edition by clicking this link.

Q. When will the remaining books come out?
A: All books have been authored but to keep them error free we have 5 different testers all over the world do every lab and reading every page. If anyone has used book that have labs that don't work you know why this extra time and care make a better experience for everyone. The testing should be done soon based on the predicted schedule below.

A: My original goal was to include DVDs for all the videos to be included on the back of each book. The few publishers who do that said no to the idea since those books are typical $60 or more and consumers are price conscious. One publisher said yes but their factory for books and DVDs are in separate states. The end result is they lowered to book prices and DVD prices to make the combo to come to the same $50-60 without forcing someone to buy both.
